Understand enterprise AI

Plain-language definitions of the concepts behind MINEO β€” for anyone deciding how their company should use AI.

The concepts, in plain language

AI Workspace

An AI Workspace is a single platform where a whole company can use, build and govern AI across every model β€” instead of scattering it across disconnected tools. It centralizes access, data, permissions and cost in one place. MINEO is an AI Workspace.

Multi-model AI

Multi-model AI means using more than one AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, open source) through a single platform, picking the best model for each task and switching freely without rebuilding your work.

Vendor lock-in

Vendor lock-in is dependence on a single AI provider, where switching models means rebuilding your agents, apps and workflows. Avoiding it means using any model through one platform and changing providers without rewriting anything.

Shadow AI

Shadow AI is the unsanctioned use of AI tools by employees β€” such as pasting company data into public chatbots β€” outside IT's visibility and control. It creates data, cost and compliance risk. The fix is to give teams governed AI they actually want to use.

AI governance

AI governance is the set of controls that keep enterprise AI safe and accountable: permissions, audit logs, data boundaries and policies over which models and data each team is allowed to use.

AI cost management

AI cost management makes AI spend visible and controllable β€” tracking usage per team and use case, routing each task to the cheapest viable model, and setting budgets and limits.

AI assistant (agent)

An AI assistant, or agent, is a configured AI that performs a specific job using a chosen model, your approved data and connected tools β€” for example answering policy questions or drafting reports. Unlike a raw chatbot, it is governed, reusable and permissioned.

AI workflow

An AI workflow is an automated, multi-step process where AI runs on a schedule or trigger β€” such as a daily report or a recurring data refresh β€” without manual work each time.

MCP (Model Context Protocol)

MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and data sources β€” databases, ticketing systems, internal APIs β€” so they can act, not just answer.

ONE PLATFORM

Part of MINEO, the governed AI Workspace

Every MINEO product runs on one multi-model platform: use any AI model, keep your data protected and stay EU-compliant β€” with no vendor lock-in.
